Videos Show Violent Acts of Jan. 6 Rioters Pardoned by Trump

President Trump recently pardoned several individuals who were convicted for their roles in the violent Jan. 6 Capitol riot, including men who attacked police officers. Despite the pardons, video evidence of their actions remains, showcasing the severity of their crimes.

Among those pardoned was Daniel Rodriguez, who was sentenced to over 12 years in prison for assaulting an officer. Rodriguez used a stun gun on Officer Michael Fanone, who suffered serious injuries and a heart attack during the attack. Two others, Albuquerque Cosper Head and Kyle J. Young, were also pardoned after being sentenced to more than seven years for their involvement in the assault on Fanone.

The videos, used by the Justice Department during their trials, capture the brutal moments when Fanone was dragged into the crowd, beaten, and shocked with a stun gun. Despite the graphic evidence, Trump granted clemency to these individuals, along with nearly 1,600 others charged in connection with the riot, claiming they were victims of a politicized prosecution.

Officer Fanone, who has since left the police force, continues to deal with the physical and emotional aftermath of that day. The videos serve as a stark reminder of the violence that unfolded, even as the pardons attempt to rewrite the narrative.
