A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Monday afternoon at Woorim Beach in Queensland, Australia, when 17-year-old Charlize Zmuda lost her life in a shark attack. The beach, a popular spot for locals and tourists, was closed immediately following the tragedy.

Charlize, a skilled lifeguard and ocean enthusiast, was swimming when the attack occurred. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries on the beach. Authorities have yet to identify the type of shark involved in the attack and are preparing a report for the coroner.

Known for her love of the ocean, Charlize had dedicated much of her young life to water safety. She volunteered with Surf Life Saving Queensland, teaching children essential rescue skills, and led a patrol group.
