Savant Labs is shaking up the data world with its new automation platform tailored for business analysts. Launched in 2023, the company recently announced an impressive $18.5 million in Series A funding, led by Dell Technologies Capital. This fresh approach is a breath of air for analysts tired of juggling spreadsheets and complex tools.
Unlike other no-code platforms, Savant Labs zeroes in on the needs of business analysts. Its standout feature? A spreadsheet-like interface that’s familiar and easy to use. The platform’s no-code graphical interface mirrors the workflows analysts create, making automation feel intuitive rather than intimidating.
Chitrang Shah, the brains behind Savant Labs, brings a wealth of experience from his time at Lattice Engines, where he focused on machine learning models. At Savant, he’s expanding on that work to address a broader range of industries—think finance, HR, and supply chain. “Analytics demand is skyrocketing, but the tools haven’t kept up,” Shah explains. “We’re here to bridge that gap.”
One of Savant’s big wins is its ability to let users craft workflows directly in a spreadsheet format. Analysts can use standard Excel formulas or even ask the platform’s bot to write formulas for them. It’s a clever blend of simplicity and power, designed to save time and reduce bottlenecks.
The platform isn’t just about ease of use—it’s also built for security and collaboration. It connects to a wide range of data sources, from Sharepoint spreadsheets to SaaS apps, while offering role-based access controls. This makes it a solid choice for large enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies in healthcare, energy, and insurance.
Looking ahead, Savant Labs plans to expand its reach to small and medium businesses. Shah’s vision is clear: “Analytics shouldn’t be locked down to technical users. We’re making it accessible while ensuring governance and oversight.”
With backing from Vertex Ventures, Cota Capital, and others, Savant Labs is poised to make waves in the data automation space. For business analysts, this could be the tool they’ve been waiting for.
