Ryan Reynolds couldn’t resist showing some love for his longtime pal and “Deadpool & Wolverine” co-star Hugh Jackman during the opening night of Jackman’s musical revue in NYC. The duo’s playful banter continued to shine, mixing heartfelt praise with their signature humor.
At Radio City Music Hall, Reynolds interrupted the show with a mic in hand, declaring Jackman his “gotcha for life.” He joked about a bit where security was supposed to “tase him, tie him up, and throw him into the Radio City garbage dump.” But, of course, Reynolds couldn’t help gushing, “I love this man, I care about this man, he is genuinely the best human being I know… and I have four children! He is the best.”
The bromance didn’t stop there. Reynolds took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the show, writing, “I give it 4.9 stars out of 5 because I was told there’d be a car chase.” He also teased Jackman’s singing and dancing skills, quipping, “I knew he could stab and grunt,” a nod to Jackman’s iconic Wolverine role.
Jackman’s show, Hugh Jackman: From New York, With Love, is a 24-performance residency at Radio City Music Hall. It features songs from his stage and film career, including hits from The Greatest Showman, Les Misérables, and The Boy From Oz.
After the show, Jackman shared his excitement on Instagram, posting a photo of Reynolds and their director, Shawn Levy. “What an incredible night it was,” he wrote. “The love emanating from the audience was enormous. We all felt it.”
With their on-and-off-screen chemistry, it’s clear that Reynolds and Jackman’s friendship—and playful rivalry—is here to stay. Fans can’t wait to see more of their dynamic when Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters.
