While heading out to walk their dog, Joe noticed a stray leash in the yard and paused to pick it up. Just minutes later, a meteorite slammed into their front walkway — a scene captured in stunning detail by their Ring doorbell camera.

“If I had stayed there for just two more minutes, I probably would have been hit,” Joe later said. The couple shared the footage, which shows the meteorite’s fiery descent and the loud crash as it hit the ground.

Lab tests confirmed the rock was indeed a meteorite, and it’s now officially cataloged as the “Charlottetown Meteorite” by the Meteoritical Society.
