Lewis Hamilton Calls Ferrari Move a "Dream Come True"
Lewis Hamilton is living the dream—literally. The seven-time Formula One world champion recently shared his excitement after his first official day at Ferrari, calling it a “dream come true” and hinting at a fresh chapter for the legendary team.
Hamilton, who stunned the racing world last year by leaving Mercedes after 12 seasons, spent Monday at Ferrari’s Maranello factory in Italy. Dressed sharply in a black suit, he posed next to a sleek Ferrari F40 and met his new teammates.
“There are some days you’ll remember forever, and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days,” Hamilton wrote on Instagram. “Part of me has always held onto the dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realize that dream today.”
The British driver, who shares the record for the most F1 titles with Michael Schumacher, joined Ferrari after triggering a release clause in his Mercedes contract. He’ll now team up with Charles Leclerc, as Ferrari aims to secure its first driver’s championship since 2007.
Reflecting on his time at Mercedes, Hamilton told CNN last year, “We created history together. I don’t look back with regrets because there’s literally no more we could’ve done.”
Now, he’s ready to write a new story. “Today, we start a new era in the history of this iconic team,” he added. “I’m dedicated to bringing everything I have to deliver for the team, the wider organization, and the fans.”
The 2024 F1 season kicks off with the Australian Grand Prix on March 16, with pre-season testing in Bahrain starting February 26. Fans are already buzzing to see what Hamilton and Ferrari can achieve together.
